Is this in person?
Yes. All interviews must be in person at Films at 59, Bristol, per world record rules.
How long is my booking?
Your booking is a 3-hour window. This covers your arrival, briefing, standby and your 1-hour interview. The interview itself is scheduled within your window based on real-time pacing.
Can I bring my co-founder or team?
Interviews are solo. You may bring one guest, a co-founder, family member or friend, to watch off-camera, but only if pre-approved with us before the day. Email ollie@foundedandgrounded.co.uk with their name.
Where does the money go?
25% of every fee goes directly to Talk Club. The remainder covers production, venue, world record consulting fees, trademark licences and the cost of running the attempt.
When will my podcast episode go out?
Episodes will be released in 2027 as standalone episodes, edited for quality but otherwise as recorded. Your full interview is also live-streamed on YouTube and LinkedIn on the day, so the conversation is available immediately.
Will I get video clips?
Yes. When your episode is released, you'll have short-form clips from your interview. Yours to use however you want.
What's the refund and transfer policy?
Bookings are non-refundable, but if the attempt fails before your interview you'll be refunded. You can transfer your slot to another founder up to 3 weeks before the event, or switch time slots subject to availability (paying or receiving the price difference).
What if I'm nervous about being interviewed?
That's normal. After interviewing 100+ founders, Ollie's superpower is putting people at ease. No surprise questions.
What if I'm not "founder-y" enough?
You deffo are. If you're building something and you've got a story to tell, you belong here.
How do rest breaks work during the 59 hours?
Under official marathon record rules, Ollie earns 5 minutes of rest for every full non-stop hour of interviewing. Rest can be banked and taken together, and unused time carries forward. If a break ever runs longer than the rest banked, the attempt is over. Breaks count towards the total record time, and the attempt must finish with at least 10 minutes of non-stop activity. It's why the schedule is precise, and why your slot is a fixed window.
Who keeps the attempt honest?
Independent witnesses. Record rules require two present at all times, working in pairs on shifts of up to four hours, keeping the official logbook. Across 59 hours that's around 30 volunteers, plus reserves. Witnesses can't be family, close friends or colleagues of the team. Want in? See Be a witness.
Do I have to do anything official on the day?
One thing: sign the logbook. Every interview must follow a question and answer structure with at least five questions asked, and each founder signs to confirm their interview happened and followed the record guidelines. We handle everything else.
